More often we like to compare ourselves to how other people look and then make a decision whether we are better or worse. When it comes to assessing beauty, many women are their own worst critic; “if only my eyebrows were thicker” or “if I were only two sizes smaller”. All these factors can have negative emotional and psychological consequences.

Here are some tips we have put together to help you feel beautiful within yourself:

Be thankful

Simply say "thank you" when someone gives you a compliment. The positive reinforcement will make you both want to give and receive compliments more often.

Drink more water

Drinking water keeps your skin youthful and properly hydrated so it is less likely to dry out. Water helps you look younger by keeping skin hydrated and reduces wrinkles by filling in and plumping the skin.

Meditate

Meditation helps you balance emotions and stress. The more you meditate, the more you radiate.

Eat Well

We are made up of the food that we eat. A balanced diet, with sufficient protein, vitamins, fruits and leafy vegetables will give you energy and radiant skin.

Smile

Your brain gets an instant mood boost from the muscle contractions, and that boost is maintained as people smile back at you.

Get Active

Aim for 30mins of exercise every day, walk instead of driving to the shops or catch up with friends for a 30min jog before heading out to breakfast. Being active has proven to lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. It helps to relieve stress, improve sleep and much more.

Sleep Well

You know what lack of sleep does to your appearance, not to mention your mental health. A good night’s sleep is a mini facelift!

Be Natural

Wear natural makeup, these products don’t contain any harmful chemicals and improve the overall look of your skin.

Take care of your teeth

The health of your mouth can say a lot about your overall wellness. Ensure you brush twice a day and floss daily. Keep those pearly whites clean for the perfect smile.

Dress up

Take some time to go shopping and buy something new, experiment and wear something you wouldn’t normally do. Perhaps wear red and turn a few heads.

Stand tall and be confident

Stand up straight. Hold your head high. Throw those shoulders back. You will look confident, energetic and amazing!
